I picked her up just before Christmas last year. Purchased from the son of the original owner who had recently passed away. She was bought new in 1968. I have the sales slip and manual full of notes and sample stitches. The cabinet was no thing of beauty but has a lift and she drops down in there when she is feeling shy. She now lives in my living room and I call her Miss Olive. She has a beautiful stitch but doesn’t see as much action as she deserves.
I also have an 830 record in the red suitcase. She came to live with me when I stopped at a babylock dealer to look at a serger and saw her on the shelf of used machines covered in dust. I went back and bout the serger a month later and she was still there and a month after that I went back to have a lesson and the owner got distracted with another customer and so I took her off the shelf and threader her and tried her out and she came home with me! I couldn’t leave her there again! Now she is oiled and spit shined and has a full foot compliment and sews like a dream!
